Critical Life Insurance
What is critical life insurance?
Critical life insurance provides customers with a life insurance policy, combined with a critical illness insurance policy that offers them total peace of mind that should the worst happen, they, or their families will be looked after financially.
There are several situations that can lead to people being unable to provide for their families, and the two most common are death and critical illness. While unemployment is a real pain, the customer is well enough to find alternate work. Death and critical illnesses can be terminal, and providing for your family when you cannot do so anymore is important to a lot of people.
Critical life insurance provides both life insurance, which will pay a lump sum payment to the family of a customer who dies, and critical illness insurance, which will pay a lump sum payment to a customer who is diagnosed with a critical illness, in one combined policy, which is usually cheaper than taking them both separately.
The critical illness aspect of a critical life insurance policy will usually have a survival period. The survival period will vary from insurer to insurer but is generally around 28 days and is the period of time a customer must survive after first diagnosis of the illness to make a claim.
Why do I need critical life insurance?
Critical life insurance will protect your financial responsibilities, so that if you are not able to meet them, your policy payout will. Those responsibilities could be your rent, mortgage, children, or a combination of the two, and many families would not survive financially if they lost one of their earners and did not get a critical life insurance payout.
The critical life insurance payout can be for as much as you want, with you paying a premium payment each month based on your age and the size of the payout you feel you need. Most people will have a payout big enough to pay off the mortgage, and to leave money behind to help the family get back on their feet.
Even if you come back from your critical illness and work again, the money can be used to pay for private medical healthcare, a relaxing recuperating holiday or for changes to the house to make your life easier while you recover from your illness.
